Oyo Confirms Fresh Lassa Fever Cases in Ibadan

The Oyo State Ministry of Health has confirmed multiple cases of Lassa fever in Ibadan, prompting the activation of emergency response measures. Health officials disclosed that confirmed patients are currently receiving treatment at designated isolation centres, including the Infectious Disease Centre in Olodo.

The government has urged residents to maintain proper hygiene practices and avoid contact with rodents, which are known carriers of the disease. Medical experts are also conducting contact tracing and community awareness campaigns to prevent further spread.

Authorities assured citizens that surveillance systems have been strengthened across hospitals and local communities to quickly detect and manage suspected cases.
