Security Agencies Arrest Suspects Over Illegal Fuel Trading in Oyo

Security agencies in Oyo State have launched a coordinated crackdown on illegal fuel merchants operating along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The operation, led by the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, resulted in the seizure of several litres of illegally stored petroleum products.

Officials explained that the exercise was designed to reduce fire hazards, improve public safety, and dismantle illegal trading networks operating around the toll gate axis. Residents in nearby communities had earlier complained about the risks posed by fuel storage in residential areas.

The government reiterated its commitment to enforcing environmental and safety regulations while warning offenders against engaging in illegal petroleum activities.
